Ja’Marr Chase Sets Ambitious Touchdown Record Goal for NFL Season

2 hours ago 0

The NFL season is on the horizon, and Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals is entering as one of the top wide receivers in the league.

Chase’s Stellar Performance

Last season, Chase achieved impressive statistics, finishing third in the NFL with 125 receptions and fourth with 1,412 receiving yards. He also tied for 11th in the league with eight receiving touchdowns. However, Chase is aiming even higher this year. His objective is clear.

“Honestly, man, the only goal that I have for myself going forward is to get 23 touchdowns. I want to break the record with that,” he stated while talking to NFL Network.

Chase emphasized his daily motivation, saying, “That’s not my full goal every day. My goal is to be better the next day than the last day. Try to get my team better than what they was the last day.”

Aiming for Randy Moss’s Record

Chase is targeting the record for single-season receiving touchdowns. This record stands at 23, set by Randy Moss in 2007 while playing with the New England Patriots alongside Tom Brady. To surpass this record, Chase will need to score at least 24 touchdowns in the upcoming season.

In 2024, Chase scored 17 touchdowns, the highest in his career. This season could be promising with Joe Burrow, the Bengals’ quarterback, back following an injury that limited him to eight games last season. Despite his limited time on the field, Burrow managed 17 touchdown passes.

Looking Ahead

To break the record, Chase will need multiple two-touchdown games. If he remains healthy and plays throughout the season, he has the advantage of playing one more regular-season game than Moss did in 2007.

With training camp and preseason soon concluding, Chase’s journey toward his ambitious goal begins when the Bengals face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, September 13.
