Rod Stewart Halts Farewell Tour Due to Health Procedure

Sir Rod Stewart will pause his “One Last Time” farewell tour after undergoing a coronary stent procedure. A representative confirmed he canceled several performances, including Rocket Arena in Cleveland and Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati.

The Cincinnati venue mentioned the cancellation stemmed from “an unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention.” Earlier this year, Stewart had also canceled shows in Las Vegas and San Diego.

“Following further medical evaluation, Sir Rod Stewart has successfully undergone a routine coronary stent procedure. Doctors are pleased with his recovery, and Rod is doing very well and has returned to his normal daily activities,” his publicist stated. “On the advice of his doctors, he will take the next four weeks to recuperate and regain full fitness before returning to the stage. Unfortunately, this means he will be unable to continue his current tour dates.”

Stewart, 81, planned to perform in North America through September 3, including a six-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and a few dates in Mexico. He expressed gratitude to his medical team and disappointment at missing scheduled shows. “I’m already feeling better and very much on the mend. I want to thank the doctors, nurses and everyone who has taken such wonderful care of me,” Stewart shared.

The Grammy-winning artist, known for hits like “Maggie May” and “Tonight’s the Night,” has achieved legendary status over decades. He is a two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
