Matilda Lindell Celebrates 18 Years on Stage in ABBA Tribute

Swedish singer and entertainer Matilda Lindell marks her 18th year on stage with a tribute to Agnetha Fältskog in “ABBA The Concert.” This performance is among the world’s most successful ABBA tribute tours. Lindell will perform at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana’s Live Venue mainstage in an exclusive 7 p.m. concert.

Speaking from New York, Lindell expressed excitement about performing in the U.S., noting that American audiences celebrate ABBA’s music vibrantly. Formed in 1999 with an all-Swedish cast, the tribute includes various artists over the years. Lindell, who joined at 26, showcases her vocal talents alongside musicians such as Elisabet Karlsson, Mia Ternström, Martin Håkansson, and Matte Andersson.

The 90-minute concert promises hits like “Mamma Mia,” “S.O.S,” “Money, Money, Money,” “The Winner Takes All,” “Waterloo,” “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme,” and “Dancing Queen.” “Waterloo” draws notable attention due to the group’s costumes, originally designed by Owe Sandström for ABBA’s 1974 Eurovision launch. These iconic painted cat costumes have become pop culture history, made with original materials and designs.

Lindell’s career began at 16 with roles in the Swedish soap opera “Tre kronor.” Despite her success in live performance, she still cherishes the idea of returning to television and film. She mentioned her preference for natural stage fog over theatrical haze to preserve vocal quality, despite different venue conditions.
