Kellan Lutz’s Move from California to Tennessee: A Family Decision

Kellan Lutz recently shared why he relocated from California to Tennessee three years ago. The move came after the onset of the pandemic and the birth of his second child. Speaking on ‘Inside of You’ with Michael Rosenbaum, Lutz expressed his fondness for California but explained the family decision behind their relocation.

The ‘Twilight’ actor moved to Tennessee alongside his wife, Brittany Lutz. They left Orange County with hopes of potentially returning in the future, or at least living a bi-coastal lifestyle. Brittany, originally from Orange County, valued the support of her family. Many in California, including her family, moved away due to job losses and a desire for a more peaceful environment post-COVID.

Lutz described how crucial it was for his wife to have family support while he is away for work. They established a life with ample space, engaging in Bible studies, attending local churches, and fostering a community-oriented lifestyle. These aspects contributed significantly to their decision to settle in Tennessee.

Lutz explained, “We got some land, got great Bible studies that we’re a part of, great churches, great community.”

Despite the move being favorable, Lutz acknowledged certain adjustments. He shared, “We aren’t seasons people. There’s tornadoes, and my wife goes on red alert, especially with kids.” The relocation also brought about changes like missing out on California’s sushi and Mexican food offerings.

Lutz noted an interesting aspect of living in Franklin, Tennessee, the presence of a vibrant acting community. He attends more movie premieres there than during his years in Los Angeles. While the family enjoys their life in Tennessee, they remain unsure about how long they will stay.
