Randy Fine Wins GOP Primary in Florida’s 6th District

2 hours ago 0

Rep. Randy Fine of Florida won the Republican primary for the 6th Congressional District. This followed a campaign filled with intense personal attacks against him. Fine surpassed his competitors, including businessman Manuel P. Asensio, Aaron Baker, retired Brig. Gen. Charles Gambaro, and social media influencer Dan Bilzerian.

The Cook Political Report views the district as strongly Republican. Fine had several advantages, such as a strong fundraising position and the endorsement of former President Donald Trump in October 2025. Trump praised Fine as a “MAGA Warrior.”

First elected in a 2025 special election, Fine has become a vocal supporter of Israel and a fighter against antisemitism within the House GOP. Before Congress, he was known as Florida’s sole Jewish Republican legislator and earned the nickname “Hebrew Hammer” for his advocacy work. Fine adopted this nickname, which reflects his efforts to protect Jewish communities.

Bilzerian, a social media personality and businessman, attacked Fine with antisemitic remarks throughout the campaign. Bilzerian’s online persona focuses on a lavish lifestyle, often showcasing himself with women. He leads Ignite International Brands, known for disposable vapes and alcoholic products.

Notably, Bilzerian faced backlash for assertions connecting Jews to distressing conspiracy theories, including claims about the Sept. 11 attacks and the Holocaust. He continued these attacks during his campaign, creating a 2½-minute AI-generated ad with offensive language against Fine.

House Speaker Mike Johnson condemned these attacks. He remarked on the necessity for political leaders across the spectrum to denounce antisemitism and expressed that such hatred has no place in American politics.

Before his time in Congress, Fine served in Florida’s House and Senate for eight years, where he led several committees focused on key issues like school choice and immigration.

Fine’s primary victory places him in a strong position for the November general election, as the district remains a Republican stronghold.
