Israel Military to Investigate Critical Attacks in Gaza

1 hour ago 0

Israel’s military has announced its decision to initiate criminal investigations into two significant attacks on Palestinians during the Gaza conflict. These involve the deaths of 6-year-old Hind Rajab and her family, as well as 15 Palestinian paramedics.

The military confirmed it would not undertake investigations into three other attacks that resulted in the deaths of aid workers from organizations like World Central Kitchen and Doctors Without Borders. This update stemmed from reviews of 150 incidents concerning troop actions in Gaza.

Hind Rajab’s tragic death occurred in February 2024. She was with her family in a vehicle trying to escape the conflict in Gaza City when Israeli forces opened fire, resulting in the deaths of Hind and her relatives. The Red Crescent lost contact with her during efforts to secure military permission for a rescue. Days later, her body was discovered alongside those of her family and two medics.

The killing of 15 paramedics happened in May 2025 in Rafah. Israeli troops targeted the paramedics’ vehicles during a rescue mission. The troops claimed to have acted due to suspicious vehicle movements; however, recorded footage contradicted this, showing the emergency vehicles marked clearly with flashing lights and logos.

Eid Azizi of the Palestinian Red Crescent communicated their stance to the Associated Press. He stated that the adherence to international humanitarian law would have prevented such incidents from occurring.

The Gaza conflict began on October 7, 2023, triggered by Hamas-led militants who killed over 1,200 individuals in southern Israel and abducted 251 others. The subsequent war claimed more than 73,000 lives, as reported by Gaza’s Health Ministry. This includes over 1,273 deaths since an October ceasefire. The casualty numbers, kept by the Hamas-led government, are widely considered reliable.
