Saints Rookie Brock Rechsteiner Involved in Training Camp Brawl

58 minutes ago 0

Training camps are typically meant for refining skills and preparing for upcoming games. However, New Orleans Saints rookie Brock Rechsteiner decided to take a different approach during a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys.

Rechsteiner, who has familial ties to the wrestling world as the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner and nephew of Rick Steiner, found himself in the midst of a heated brawl. Amidst punches and helmets flying, Rechsteiner was seen performing German suplexes on opposing players, drawing attention for his WWE-style maneuvers.

Former WWE commentator Pat McAfee couldn’t help but comment on Rechsteiner’s antics. McAfee suggested that Rechsteiner could join his cousin Bron Breakker in WWE’s NXT, potentially reviving the famed Steiner Brothers brand.

Bron Breakker is quickly ascending in the WWE ranks and is set to match up against Oba Femi at the upcoming Sunday Night’s Main Event scheduled for September 6. His cousin’s wrestling prowess on the field certainly ties into the Steiner legacy.

Unfortunately for Rechsteiner, his NFL journey hit a snag. The Saints rookie received a suspension for the first six games of the season due to a violation of the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Before his NFL career, Rechsteiner made an impact at Jacksonville State. From 2023 to 2025, he recorded 53 catches for 629 yards and seven touchdowns. His senior year saw him contribute with 36 receptions for 383 yards and five touchdowns.

The Steiner name doesn’t stop with Brock. His brother, Brandon Rechsteiner, also has his ties to wrestling, having signed NIL deals with WWE last year. Meanwhile, Brandon, playing as a guard for the Colorado State Rams men’s basketball team, averaged 12 points per game during the 2025-26 season before announcing his transfer to Kansas State.

Brock Rechsteiner had first signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent but later shifted to the New Orleans Saints. His involvement in training camp activities on July 30, 2026, continues to be a subject of interest, both in the sports and wrestling communities.
