1 hour ago 0

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) is scheduled to hold its Lockdown event at the Credit I Union Arena in Chicago on Sunday night. This occasion marks the first Lockdown since 2016, and it will also be the first time since 2014 that the event is held as a pay-per-view. Lockdown is a unique feature on the TNA calendar.

All matches will occur inside a steel cage, ensuring plenty of dramatic moments. The official start time for Lockdown is 5 p.m. ET, with broadcasts available on TNA+. TNA’s digital platforms will offer pre-show matches at no cost to viewers.

Avery Styles Set to Appear

TNA announced on Saturday that Avery Styles, son of legendary WWE and TNA star A.J. Styles, will appear at Lockdown. His role in the event remains unspecified. Avery Styles has recently started his pro wrestling career, primarily performing in Game Changer Wrestling.

Pre-show and Dark Matches

The Lockdown event will include two pre-show matches and a dark match. BDE and Rich Swann will compete against The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch), while Special Agent 0 faces Trey Miguel. Both pre-show matches will occur inside the steel cage. In the dark match, Joe Alonzo takes on The Home Town Man for the AAW Heavyweight Championship. Winning this match allows Joe Alonzo to earn a TNA contract if he retains the championship.

Predicted outcomes: The Righteous defeating BDE and Swann, Miguel overcoming Special Agent 0, and Alonzo securing a victory over Home Town Man.

Main Card Highlights

Matt and Jeff Hardy vs. Nic and Ryan Nemeth

The Hardys will defend their TNA World Tag Team Championship against the Nemeth brothers, who aim to reclaim the title for a second time. Nic Nemeth, already the TNA world champion, could simultaneously hold two titles with a win over the Hardys. The Hardys secured the tag championship at Slammiversary in June and are defending them for the fifth time.

Prediction: The Hardys retain their titles.

Allie & Mystery Partner vs. Heather by Elegance and M by Elegance

With Rosemary unavailable, Allie will need a partner to help defend the TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship. The Elegance Brand seeks a return to championship status against DemonXBunny. Allie, with a surprise partner, is expected to succeed in securing their titles.

Prediction: Allie and her mystery partner retain the championships.

AJ Francis vs. Elijah

A classic confrontation between AJ Francis and Elijah is anticipated. Their animosity stems from Francis’s interference in Elijah’s music career, prompting a rivalry that transitions to the ring. The match is dubbed the Final Encore.

Prediction: Francis claims victory over Elijah.

Jason Hotch vs. Mustafa Ali

Jason Hotch, the current TNA International Champion, defends his title against Mustafa Ali. Their rivalry has become personal, escalating to an unpredictable steel cage match.

Prediction: Hotch retains his title.

Frankie Kazarian vs. Moose

An ‘Escape the Cage’ match between Frankie Kazarian and Moose adds a new historical chapter, marking their first encounter in TNA.

Prediction: Kazarian escapes first to win.

Cedric Alexander vs. Leon Slater

The TNA X Division Championship is on the line as Cedric Alexander defends against Leon Slater. The match carries an extra stipulation—Slater’s recorded title history will be obliterated if he loses again.

Prediction: Alexander emerges victorious.

The System vs. Ricky Sosa’s Team

A Lethal Lockdown match will see Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Bear Bronson, and Alisha Edwards face Ricky Sosa, Fabian Aichner, KC Navarro, and Jada Stone. The match promises intense competition as chaos unfolds inside the steel confines, marking the first Lethal Lockdown in a decade.

Prediction: The System maintains dominance.

Xia Brookside vs. Elayna Black

Xia Brookside will defend her TNA Knockouts World Championship against Elayna Black. Despite Brookside’s determination to impact during her title reign, Elayna Black seeks victory in her hometown, eager to seize the moment inside the steel cage.

Prediction: Brookside retains her championship.
