Key Omissions in Influential Cultural Works List

9 hours ago 0

Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, and the iPhone were among the top omissions noted from The Washington Post’s list of the 25 most impactful works of American culture. The article highlighted these icons as significant cultural influences.

In a promotional image for Jailhouse Rock, Elvis Presley stands as a symbol of a musical and cultural shift. Bob Dylan’s performance on The Ed Sullivan Show on May 12, 1963, marked a pivotal moment in music history. Meanwhile, Steve Jobs unveiled a revolutionary tech product on January 9, 2007, holding up the first iPhone.

The selection for The Washington Post’s list included works from each decade since the United States’ founding. Due to project constraints, only one work from every ten years was chosen, accompanied by a limited shortlist of no more than five works per decade.
