Adam Schefter’s Return to NFL Network’s ‘The Insiders’

Adam Schefter, renowned ESPN insider, is set to join NFL Network’s show “The Insiders” weekly during the fall, as confirmed by OutKick. Schefter originally served as a national NFL insider for NFL Network from 2004 to 2009 before moving to ESPN. His upcoming appearance on “The Insiders” will mark his first return to the network in 17 years.

ESPN and NFL Network have deepened their collaboration after ESPN acquired NFL Network, granting the NFL a 10% equity stake in ESPN. “The Insiders,” a key evening program for NFL Network, was previously anchored by Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo. With Pelissero moving to The Ringer and Netflix, Schefter will likely co-host the show on Wednesdays during the season.

This strategic move is a part of ESPN’s broader initiative to integrate talent between the two networks. Alongside Schefter, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano are anticipated to co-host the show occasionally. In return, NFL Network figures like Rapoport, Stacey Dales, Cynthia Frelund, Steve Smith, Kyle Brandt, and Gerald McCoy are slated to appear on ESPN platforms.

Meanwhile, ESPN correspondents Molly McGrath and Mina Kimes will make appearances on NFL Network, including during the Sunday pregame shows. Recently, Schefter extended his contract with ESPN, and Ian Rapoport also renewed his agreement. Both insiders will be prominent on the networks leading up to ESPN’s first Super Bowl broadcast in February, appearing on shows such as “Get Up,” “SportsCenter,” and the “Pat McAfee Show.”
