2 weeks ago 0

The National Park Service is requesting assistance in identifying hikers or backpackers present in specific areas of the Grand Canyon during a recent flash flood. The flood, described as significant, occurred on a Saturday and left more than 20 individuals potentially missing or unaccounted for.

On Sunday, park officials revealed details about the incident. Remnants of stone bridge pylons stand along Bright Angel Creek, marking the destruction of a footbridge during the flood. The service is particularly interested in contacting those who had campground reservations or were known to be in the affected region the day before the flood.
