Jewish Artists Support Mark Ruffalo Amid Antisemitism Allegations

More than 180 Jewish entertainers and artists have publicly supported actor Mark Ruffalo. He faced accusations of antisemitism after opposing the proposed merger between Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount.

“We are Jewish artists, writers, creative professionals, faith leaders, and thinkers who have, in response to the outrageous smear campaign against our respected colleague Mark Ruffalo, a simple message to share with the world: Enough!” the letter read, as reported by Variety.

The letter challenges the false charges of antisemitism. It affirms that addressing the situation of Palestinians and domestic liberties do not equate to being antisemitic.

Ruffalo previously shared a video involving Safra Catz, an Oracle executive and Paramount board member. The video discussed technology used to support Israel after Hamas attacks. Paramount accused him of invoking antisemitic tropes.

In his comments, Ruffalo suggested Oracle’s founder, Larry Ellison, linked the merger to potential oppression. He highlighted concerns over merging media technologies.

Several Jewish artists, including Abbi Jacobson, Alex Winter, Gina Gershon, and Tony Kushner, defended Ruffalo’s stance. They denied the antisemitism claims, citing executives’ support for policies affecting Palestinians.

“The AI road to WarnerMount runs through Gaza,” the letter stated, expressing concerns over media control.

Moreover, the celebrities noted American Jews’ views on Israel’s actions against Gaza. They argued these concerns are core to Jewish ethics, not antisemitism.

Fox News Digital reached out to Ruffalo for comment. He denied accusations of antisemitism, emphasizing criticism of Israeli leaders and contracts, not Jewish people.

Meanwhile, a group called The Brigade condemned Ruffalo, labeling his comments antisemitic. They claimed his portrayal of Jewish executives was harmful.

Elizabeth Barcohana, California Republican Party’s Jewish engagement chair, criticized Ruffalo as a spokesman due to his rhetoric. She praised The Brigade’s opposition to antisemitism in Hollywood.
