Seahawks Secure Comeback Victory Against Patriots

1 hour ago 0

The Seattle Seahawks faced tough conditions against the New England Patriots, trailing 10-0 in the third quarter. Sam Darnold, the Seahawks’ starting quarterback, left the game early with a hip injury, causing concern for the team. As a result, backup quarterback Drew Lock took the field.

Lock’s initial performance was shaky, ending his first four drives with punts. However, on the Seahawks’ final possession of the third quarter, Lock managed a 31-yard drive that concluded with a field goal, putting Seattle on the scoreboard.

In the fourth quarter, Lock’s performance improved. He connected with receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 45-yard touchdown pass. He then led the team to another field goal, giving the Seahawks a 13-10 lead with 5:50 remaining.

The game was sealed by a third interception by Patriots quarterback Drake Maye in the fourth quarter, securing the win for Seattle.

“I know what kind of defense we have,” Lock commented about the victory during an NBC broadcast. “I know the playmakers we have. If I take care of the football and win the turnover battle, we’d have a pretty good shot at winning.”

Lock completed 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards, with one touchdown and no turnovers. He also gained 13 yards on the ground, playing a crucial role in the team’s comeback.

Post-game, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald shared that scans revealed no fractures for Darnold. More tests are pending, but initial reports suggest a shorter recovery period than initially feared.
