Jack Osbourne on Parenting Without a Nanny and Coping with Loss

18 hours ago 0

Jack Osbourne, known for his connection to a legendary rock family, shared insights into raising five children without a nanny. At a recent Emmy nominees event in Los Angeles, Osbourne discussed how he and his wife, Aree, manage their household without outside help. ‘We don’t do the nanny thing,’ Osbourne stated in an interview with People magazine, adding, ‘I thought it was going to be more challenging, but you find a rhythm.’

Aree, a stay-at-home mom, and Jack have daughters Maple, 4, and Ozzy Matilda, 6 months. Jack also fathers Pearl, 14, Andy, 11, and Minnie, 8, with ex-wife Lisa Stelly. The family recently celebrated Maple’s first day of preschool, marked by a photo Osbourne shared with Maple alongside her baby sister, referring to Ozzy Matilda as her ’emotional support squad.’

Having grown up under the influence of his parents, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, Jack emphasizes a more structured approach with his children. ‘I’m a little more structured with my kids,’ he previously told People magazine. Jack believes in maintaining school routines, though he allows some flexibility. ‘We do a little bit, but I think structure is healthy.’

Their youngest daughter, Ozzy Matilda, was born in March. Named in honor of Jack’s late father, the birth occurred shortly before Ozzy Osbourne’s passing.

Jack found telling his father about Aree’s pregnancy to be comforting during a difficult time. In an interview with The Sun, Jack spoke of the pregnancy as both a distraction and a source of hope amid family grief. ‘It’s been partly a healthy distraction and partly healing,’ he shared, noting its role in easing the family’s grief.

Jack’s sister, Kelly Osbourne, also addressed the challenges faced after their father’s death and the public scrutiny she endured during that period.

Kelly, in a conversation with Hello!, spoke about the difficulty of dealing with cruel comments about her appearance while she was grieving. ‘I didn’t navigate it — I wasn’t well,’ she admitted, indicating her struggles with public judgment.

Kelly, the mother of 3-year-old Sidney, is focused on her mental and physical recovery. ‘You’ve got to fix the head before you fix the body,’ she stated, emphasizing that her healing would be a long-term commitment.

Jack Osbourne also addressed body-shaming issues he has faced. Recently, he responded on Instagram to reports describing him as ‘grossly underweight.’ He explained, ‘I’ve been the same weight since I got out of the jungle doing “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” six months ago.’

Jack, frustrated by persistent media commentary on his weight, asserted that despite achieving a healthy weight, criticism increased. He defiantly told body-shaming critics they could ‘get f–ked.’
