Caleb Williams’ Injury Update Provides Relief for Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears received promising news regarding quarterback Caleb Williams’ condition. Williams avoided a severe injury following a worrisome moment during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. According to OutKick, he suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain, which is not expected to cause him to miss substantial time.

During the fourth quarter of the game at Soldier Field, Williams experienced pain after a run, raising concerns about his availability for future games. Fortunately, this type of strain typically requires one to three weeks for recovery. Bears coach Ben Johnson mentioned on ESPN1000 in Chicago that Williams is considered “week-to-week.” Netflix Sports reported that the Bears haven’t dismissed the possibility of Williams playing in the upcoming game against the Philadelphia Eagles, although the source labeled it an “optimistic” view.

The primary worry was that Williams might have experienced a complete hamstring detachment upon falling untouched during a pocket scramble against the Vikings. However, the MRI results assured that his hamstring remains structurally sound. Despite the initial scene, where Williams screamed in pain as he lay on the field and needed to be carted off, the injury is not as severe as feared.

Williams aims to start his rehabilitation program promptly, given his history of overcoming similar hamstring issues. In his absence, backup quarterback Tyson Bagent will step up, as confirmed by Coach Johnson.
