Passengers Prevent Mid-Air Crisis Amid Pilot Stabbing Incident

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett expressed gratitude to the quick-thinking passengers and crew for their actions during an emergency on a flight headed to Israel. Reports suggest the incident is under investigation as a potential terrorist attack.

During a segment on ‘The Faulkner Focus,’ Bennett commended the bravery exhibited in a tense situation involving a cockpit disturbance. A co-pilot reportedly attacked the pilot with a pocketknife, causing the plane to nosedive. The situation was controlled by passengers and the Emirati crew, averting disaster.

This wasn’t a miracle, it was an act of heroism by the passengers and of the Emirati crew, Bennett stated. It’s people who saved the day, people who showed courage, who didn’t stand passively but took action, and I’m so darn proud to be Israeli today.

The flight, initially bound for Tel Aviv from Dubai, had to make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia where passengers were safely transferred to another aircraft. They managed to reach Ben Gurion International Airport.

Bennett extended his thanks to Saudi officials for permitting the emergency landing and ensuring care for those aboard. As information continues to surface, Bennett mentioned details from Israeli authorities about the alleged attack.

In response to the attack, Israeli citizens on the flight subdued the co-pilot. They entered the cockpit, removed the suspect, and assisted the standby crew. Graphic footage depicts the attacked pilot injured, requiring hospitalization.

Tabuk Airport officials in Saudi Arabia confirmed both pilots incurred injuries. Israeli representatives are currently examining if the event constituted a terrorist attempt. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded the responders’ swift response and confirmed the arrest of the perpetrator.
