Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared insights about her relationship with President Donald Trump during an Instagram Q&A. She described Trump as “kind and uplifting.” Leavitt, 29, spoke about her experience working with Trump and her personal life choices.

Discussing Trump’s personality, Leavitt emphasized his supportive nature. “Yes! He’s the best boss,” she said, providing a perspective that media coverage often misses. She added, “He has been nothing but kind and uplifting to me, even after I left the position. He’s also hilarious. Love him!”

Leavitt served as press secretary from January 2025 to August 2026. She explained her decision to leave to focus on her family. “As Press Sec, I was working in the office over 60 hours a week, constantly on call, and traveling globally. Now, I spend my days with my kids and occasionally appear on TV,” she stated.

She announced her forthcoming role as a Fox News Channel contributor starting November 1st. “I will continue making appearances on various shows,” she wrote. FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott confirmed Leavitt’s new position, where she will contribute commentary across the network’s programs.

Before her press secretary role, Leavitt worked in Trump’s first administration as a presidential writer and assistant press secretary. She also ran for Congress as a Republican in New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District in 2022 and served as communications director for Rep. Elise Stefanik.

When providing career advice, Leavitt stressed the importance of gaining practical experience. “My advice to those interested in politics or communications is to get real-world experience while in college. Classroom learning is valuable, but on-the-job training is crucial,” she advised.

Leavitt interned at NBC Sports Boston and a local news station before her White House internship. She encouraged taking on internships and working during summers to build valuable experience for future careers.

Recognized as the youngest White House press secretary, Leavitt admitted having little free time. “I don’t have free time. As a mom of two, I’m lucky if I can shower in peace. But I embrace this stage of life!”
