2 months ago 0

President Donald Trump reached out to NBC ‘Today’ co-host Savannah Guthrie on Wednesday as efforts to locate her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, gained urgency. This was verified by a White House official who told Fox News Digital that the President indeed spoke with Guthrie. However, the specifics of their conversation were not disclosed.

Nancy Guthrie, 84 years old, has been reported missing from her residence in Arizona, last seen on Saturday. Earlier, President Trump had expressed his concerns and promised additional federal support to aid in the search for the elderly woman, signaling his intention to personally call Savannah Guthrie.

“I think it’s terrible,” Trump remarked to the media earlier. “I’m going to call [Savannah Guthrie] later on. I think it’s a terrible thing. … Very unusual situation, but we’re going to find out.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department reported that Nancy was last spotted at her Tucson home around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed on Monday that a crime did occur, yet further details were withheld. Notably, blood stains leading from the entrance to the driveway were discovered, as mentioned by a police source addressing Fox News Digital.

Regarding the investigation, Nanos stated, “At this point, investigators have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie.” He further urged the public not to spread unverified claims or misinformation, emphasizing that it doesn’t contribute to the investigation’s progress.

The dialogue between Trump and Guthrie brightens against the backdrop of a tense exchange during the 2020 election cycle, where Guthrie, moderating a town hall session, challenged Trump on several issues. Of the interaction, Trump recently remarked, “I always got along very good with Savannah,” dismissing any lingering tensions.

The search for Nancy Guthrie continues to intensify, with her daughter Savannah leaning on her beliefs for solace. In an emotional Instagram post, Savannah Guthrie shared her reliance on prayer and collective hope. “We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” she expressed.

The Guthrie family urges everyone to join them in prayer for Nancy, described as a woman of strong conviction and faith. “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom,” Savannah pleaded on social media.
