Six Flags has shut down nine roller coasters across six of its theme parks. This decision follows a tragic incident involving a fatality and multiple injuries on a ride in Georgia on Monday.
The occurrence took place at Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell. Local law enforcement is currently investigating the situation, according to Lisa Cupid, chairwoman of the Cobb County Board of Commissioners. Details about how the person died and the condition of the injured individuals have not been disclosed.
The closure of these rides is being implemented as a precautionary measure. The company expressed that this action was out of an ‘abundance of caution’ as they cooperate with officials during the investigation.
