2 months ago 0

Sherri Shepherd’s talk show, “Sherri,” which has been on air since 2022, has been officially canceled after four seasons. The announcement was made on February 2, 2026, and confirmed by “Good Morning America” through a statement from Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, co-presidents of Debmar-Mercury, the show’s syndication company. Despite the show’s cancellation, the representatives asserted that the decision was influenced by changes in the daytime television landscape and not due to any shortcomings in the show’s performance or Shepherd’s abilities.

Bernstein and Marcus expressed their belief in the show’s potential and Shepherd’s talent, stating, “We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.” Production for the fourth season will proceed as planned, with the show airing its final episodes in the fall.

Meanwhile, ABC News reached out to Sherri Shepherd’s publicist for additional comments regarding the show’s cancellation. Shepherd gained recognition in her career as a television host when she took the helm of “Sherri” following her successful tenure as a co-host on “The View,” where she served for eight seasons.

The “Sherri” show was created to replace “The Wendy Williams Show” due to Williams’ health concerns at the time. Since its debut in September 2022, the show garnered critical acclaim, winning two NAACP Image Awards, one for Shepherd in 2024 and another for the series as a whole in 2025. Moreover, it received six Daytime Emmy nominations, reflecting its popularity and the quality of its content.

In 2023, after achieving success in its initial seasons, Debmar-Mercury renewed “Sherri” for another two years, extending its run through the 2024-2025 season. Shepherd expressed her excitement at the renewal, emphasizing her mission to bring laughter and joy to daytime television audiences. The fourth season commenced in September 2025.

The announcement of the show’s cancellation coincides with news that Kelly Clarkson will step down from hosting “The Kelly Clarkson Show” after a seven-season run. NBC confirmed this decision in a press release, stating that Clarkson’s show will conclude after its current season.
