Macklemore, known for his activism, is finding it challenging to secure venues for his ‘Free Palestine’ tour in the United States. He revealed that nine major venues, including Madison Square Garden and Kia Forum, have declined to host his benefit shows for Palestine.

Macklemore shared his experience on Instagram, expressing frustration as these venues rejected his tour once they realized its purpose. He stated, ‘In over twenty years of touring, I’ve never experienced anything like this.’

The rapper emphasized that similar treatment has been faced by activists and artists supporting Palestine for decades. The entertainer, famous for his hit ‘Thrift Shop,’ voiced regret for not speaking out earlier against actions he labeled ‘Zionist’ intimidation and suppression. He expressed that such tactics aim to keep artists quiet in fear of punishment.

He stated, ‘I’m three years past giving up relationships with anyone not supporting Free Palestine.’ Macklemore reiterated his commitment to speaking up, indicating he’d rather risk his career than remain silent on the issue.

Calling on other artists to join him, Macklemore highlighted his successful European shows as proof of public support for Palestinian liberation. He mentioned three sold-out arenas filled with people from various backgrounds united for the cause.

Referencing recent political events, Macklemore spoke about Abdul El-Sayed’s Senate win in Michigan despite significant opposition funding. Macklemore claimed, ‘The billionaires depend on our silence… and we have the power to bring them down.’ He encouraged others to realize their potential influence.

He concluded by announcing intentions to host more shows for the Palestinian cause, hinting that these might be outdoors. Macklemore’s public stance began drawing attention during a September tour stop with Ed Sheeran, leading to his removal as an opening act.
