Nancy Pelosi to Support Jack Schlossberg in New York Congressional Race

1 month ago 0

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is poised to endorse Jack Schlossberg in his bid for New York’s 12th Congressional District’s Democratic primary. This information was shared with CBS News by a reliable source. However, the announcement has not been officially made public yet.

Jack Schlossberg, who is 33 years old, threw his hat into the ring in November. He is the grandson of the late President John F. Kennedy, the son of Caroline Kennedy, and the first cousin of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Health and Human Services Secretary. Recently, Schlossberg addressed the New York State Nurses Association at Mount Sinai West on January 12, 2026, in New York City.

Entering a challenging political arena, Schlossberg winds up in competition with several notable figures, including state Assemblymen Alex Bores and Micah Lasher, lawyer George Conway, and journalist Jami Floyd. His campaign leans heavily on progressive values and the crucial use of social media platforms to reach young voters. In the 2024 election cycle, Schlossberg united with President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, endeavoring to solidify their appeal among youthful electorates.

If elected, Schlossberg would join the ranks of the Kennedy family members who have served in Congress, becoming at least the seventh to do so.

New York’s 12th Congressional District encompasses some of Manhattan’s most affluent and Democratic-stronghold areas, such as Midtown, the Upper East Side, and the Upper West Side.

The impending endorsement by Pelosi, which exemplifies her continued influence in political circles, was initially brought to light by The New York Times.
