In a desperate appeal for the safe return of their missing mother, “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have released a heartfelt video on social media. In this video shared on Instagram on Saturday, Guthrie expressed their willingness to pay for their mother’s release, stating, “We received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”
Nancy Guthrie, aged 84, was last seen on January 31, leading to concerns that she was abducted from her residence. She was reportedly last seen being dropped off at her home in the Catalina Foothills, north of Tucson, Arizona, after spending the evening with family. Her absence was noticed the next morning when she failed to appear for church services.
A public appeal from Savannah Guthrie, along with her siblings Annie and Camron, has been made through this video message with the aim of reaching out to those potentially holding their mother. The video has been circulated widely, with the objective of encouraging those involved to allow her return safely.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department acknowledged this latest video from the Guthrie family but emphasized that they have no new information to add at this stage of the investigation. The department continues to assess various communications, including a message received by a Tucson TV station, although its authenticity has not been confirmed.
Law enforcement agencies remain vigilant, considering all communications seriously despite the lack of new leads as of recent reports. The FBI has announced a $50,000 reward for any information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s recovery or the arrest and conviction of those responsible for her abduction.
Contributing to the gravity of the situation, evidence such as disconnected security systems and a doorbell camera at approximately 1:45 a.m., along with a pacemaker device losing connection shortly after, have painted a troubling picture of the events surrounding her disappearance. Blood found on her porch adds to concerns regarding her safety.
In addition to the ransom demands received by several media outlets, authorities continue to investigate, although no suspect or person of interest has been identified at this time, as stated by Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos.
Previously, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings have released other videos beseeching the suspected kidnappers to establish contact and verify their mother’s current condition.
