Democratic Doctors and Scientists Enter Congress with New Agendas

1 hour ago 0

A group backed by George Soros and his son has helped a significant number of Democratic doctors and scientists gain seats in Congress. This group is expected to influence the national health agenda with a focus on identity and leftist ideologies in the coming year.

Nineteen lawmakers, recently elected, have backgrounds in subjects such as race, diversity, equity, inclusion, climate change, and gun control. These topics have been central to their careers.

Dr. Annie Andrews

Dr. Annie Andrews, a pediatrician and a new politician, won a Senate seat in South Carolina. Her campaign seemed unlikely to succeed initially. Andrews, although focused on asthma in her medical career, has more recently engaged in research on topics like gun violence and racial disparities in healthcare. She supports gender-affirming care for minors and advocates for responsible firearm storage.

Richard Pan

Richard Pan, also a pediatrician, gained a federal office for the first time. Known for advocating school vaccine requirements, his campaign in California succeeded in eliminating personal belief exemptions for vaccinations in 2015. His research includes studies promoting diversity in pediatric healthcare.

Other Notable Figures

  • Jamie Ager from North Carolina, despite having limited scientific credentials, portrays environmental concerns.
  • Dr. Adam Hamawy, a controversial figure from New Jersey, has been scrutinized for past extremist associations.
  • Abdul El-Sayed, from Michigan, claims expertise as a physician but never completed a medical residency. He’s faced backlash over research considered racially prejudiced.

Their collective actions and research suggest a strong inclination towards integrating political considerations into their legislative priorities. 3.14 Action, a political committee, played a key role in supporting these candidates, spending $23 million to further their agenda. The committee focuses on issues like abortion, climate change, and gun control.

The newly elected members have declared intentions to challenge figures like Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., considered by them as a major opponent due to his anti-vaccine stance.

The Soros-funded group’s contribution to these successes involved substantial financial backing, strategic aid, and training to prepare candidates. The group’s efforts included airing thousands of ads highlighting the healthcare credentials of the candidates.
