His family disclosed this information in a statement released on Saturday. Dakota Hunter, vice president of Kyle Busch Companies, shared the family’s announcement shortly after Busch’s untimely death at the age of 41 following hospitalization.
Busch had a remarkable career in NASCAR, making his mark in the Cup Series since 2004. He achieved 63 wins in 762 career starts and claimed championships in 2015 and 2019. He was known for his record-holding wins, with 102 victories in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and 69 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
This week, Busch was hospitalized after collapsing during a Chevrolet simulator session. A 911 call obtained by Fox News detailed symptoms including coughing up blood and shortness of breath, though he remained alert during the incident.
Before his passing, Busch was preparing for the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. NASCAR CEO Steve O’Donnell held a press conference, paying tribute to Busch as an ‘American badass’ and acknowledging his impactful presence in the racing community.
