Pentagon Urges Defense Industry to Increase Weapon Production

1 hour ago 0

The Pentagon has issued a directive urging the U.S. defense industry to significantly increase the production and delivery of weapons. This request arises amid escalating tensions and a critical shortage of munitions due to ongoing military engagements with Iran. Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg communicated this need in a memo obtained by The Washington Post.

An earlier model of the Army Tactical Missile System had undergone testing at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico back in 2021. The shortage has reached a critical level, prompting the Department of Defense to take swift action in ensuring the supply meets the demand posed by current geopolitical conflicts.
