Chris Jericho has made a celebrated return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) programming, fueling months of speculation about his contract and potential moves to other promotions. Since rejoining AEW, Jericho has been embroiled in a feud with The Demand. This conflict escalates at the upcoming Double or Nothing event, where Jericho will compete in a highly anticipated Stadium Stampede Match. His teammates include Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Kenny Omega, Jack Perry, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson. They will face off against Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona, Mark Davis, Andrade El Idolo, Clark Connors, and David Finlay.
Jericho appeared on AEW Dynamite at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, showcasing his enduring commitment to professional wrestling. He remains one of the few pro wrestling legends actively competing full-time. His career boasts time in WWE, World Championship Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), Ring of Honor (ROH), among others.
There’s no conversation about the greatest in the sport without Chris Jericho,” AEW star MVP remarked during an interview with Fox News Digital. MVP expressed his longtime admiration for Jericho, noting his own love for Japanese wrestling that led him to become an early fan.
Jericho’s skills extend across the board. He cuts compelling promos and has consistently impressive matches. Remarkably, he has avoided significant injuries throughout his career. Jericho’s tenure includes being an undisputed champion, having defeated various iconic opponents to achieve that title. Discussions about modern wrestling greats often include Jericho for his contributions and achievements.
The upcoming match marks Jericho’s third Stadium Stampede appearance. The first occurred at Double or Nothing in 2020, where he teamed with Matt Hardy, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz against Omega, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page, and The Young Bucks. In the 2021 event, he again joined Hager, Guevara, Santana, and Ortiz against MJF, Wardlow, Shawn Spears, Dax Harwood, and Cash Wheeler. Jericho’s record stands at one win and one loss in these matches.
The Double or Nothing event is set at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The pre-show begins at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, followed by the main card at 8 p.m.
