Gordon Ramsay, a renowned chef and television personality, shares a fundamental rule in his household that goes beyond his culinary expertise. Despite his formidable reputation on screen, Ramsay prioritizes teaching his children the value of respect and manners. He emphasizes that these are invaluable traits in life that come at no cost.
During the FOX Upfront 2026 event, Ramsay highlighted the importance of manners as the primary lesson he instills in his children. He describes manners as the most crucial thing in life, emphasizing their cost-free nature. This principle applies to all his children, regardless of their diverse paths, be it in military service, university studies, or managing the challenges of growing up in the public eye.
Ramsay, along with his wife Tana, is a parent to six children: Megan (1998), twins Jack and Holly (1999), Matilda, known as “Tilly” (2001), Oscar (2019), and Jesse (2023). Despite an empire that spans multiple ventures, Ramsay insists on avoiding any sense of entitlement within his family.
His son Jack serves as a Royal Marine commando, Megan works as a police officer, Holly has ventured into the fashion industry, and Tilly is pursuing a university degree. Both Gordon and Tana come from families where higher education wasn’t prevalent, making their children’s accomplishments even more significant.
Tana attributes their ability to manage a large family to their own experiences growing up in families with multiple children. She shares that having four siblings herself made the experience second nature.
However, Ramsay admits he still loses patience in the kitchen. His long-standing annoyance with aspiring chefs is their tendency to season food only at the end of the cooking process. He stresses the importance of seasoning throughout the cooking journey, correcting flavors as you go.
Ramsay has sustained his passion for competition television by embracing the dynamic mix of social media influencers, amateurs, and professionals. He enjoys the friction that arises from their interactions, which adds intensity to the cooking challenges.
FOX has extended its partnership with Ramsay, renewing shows such as “Kitchen Nightmares,” “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service,” “Next Level Baker,” and “Next Level Chef.”
