Spencer Pratt’s Political Ascent and Response to Criticism

4 weeks ago 0

Spencer Pratt, initially recognized for his role in the reality series “The Hills,” is now making waves in the political arena. Pratt is currently running for mayor of Los Angeles, attracting attention and support for his campaign. His candidacy has sparked various reactions, including remarks from “Hacks” star Hannah Einbinder.

At a recent event, Einbinder voiced her concerns over Pratt’s political aspirations. She criticized the city’s wealthy individuals who pretend to align with Democratic values yet prioritize financial interests. Pratt’s endorsement by Donald Trump has been a point of contention for Einbinder, who emphasized the importance of resisting such endorsements.

Einbinder noted, “There’s a lot of wealth in this city, and I think that there are a lot of people who masquerade as Democrats or people on the left, but really, money is their key issue and that’s what leads them to vote for people like Spencer Pratt—who is endorsed by Donald Trump, and I will remind everybody of that. So, yeah, it’s important to resist that.”

Additionally, Lisa Rinna faced backlash for dismissing Pratt’s mayoral run, referring to Hollywood as a “clown show.” In response, Pratt directly addressed Einbinder’s criticism via social media, highlighting the disparity between her elite position and the everyday struggles faced by Los Angeles residents.

Pratt reposted Einbinder’s video on X, saying, “She says from a literal red carpet, surrounded by armed security, completely insulated from the horrors on our streets that Angelenos and their kids have to suffer through every day.” He challenged the notion that such celebrities understand the city’s challenges.

Pratt hasn’t shied away from addressing celebrity critiques of his campaign. Earlier, when Lisa Rinna implied that a reality star shouldn’t become mayor, Pratt was quick to respond. He contrasted his background in reality TV with Karen Bass’s controversial past, accusing her of training in bomb-making activities during her youth.

Pratt shared, “Hey Lisa, if you’re against me because I was on a TV show in my 20’s, wait til you learn what Karen Bass was doing in her 20’s… [Bass] was in Cuba learning how to make bombs with the people that would then go bomb Capitol Hill.”

Pratt defended his candidacy by asserting his experience, albeit unconventional, as preferable to a past tainted by violent activity. These exchanges underscore Pratt’s spirited and confrontational approach to political criticism.

Chelsea Handler also chimed in, questioning Pratt’s legitimacy as a political candidate given his reality TV background. Pratt retorted by referencing Handler’s past association with controversial figure Jeffrey Epstein. He encouraged audiences to look into the matter, shaking off Handler’s criticisms.

The latest poll by the L.A. Times shows Mayor Karen Bass leading with 26%, followed closely by Nithya Raman at 25%, and Spencer Pratt at 22%, indicating a tight race.
