All-time great NFL pass rusher Aaron Donald is making a comeback with the Los Angeles Rams. He signed a one-year deal worth $20 million with his former team on Sunday.
The Rams were already strong contenders for the Super Bowl title. Donald’s return raises their chances even more.
This addition brings extra expectations. During Monday’s episode of First Take on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith emphasized the stakes for the Rams.
The only possible excuse for the Rams not making the Super Bowl is health,Smith commented.Injuries, obviously, this is the world of the NFL. That could derail everything. … If they’re healthy, there’s no reason the Los Angeles Rams shouldn’t be walking away with the Super Bowl championship.
Besides signing Donald, the Rams roster includes the reigning NFL MVP, Matthew Stafford, and the current Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett.
Los Angeles will begin their regular season with a Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers on September 10.
