Airman 1st Class Cedric Eneluna Dies in Equipment Accident at Vandenberg Space Force Base

A tragic accident involving heavy equipment claimed the life of Airman 1st Class Cedric Eneluna at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The mishap occurred on Thursday, as announced by officials the following day.

Eneluna, 23, served in the 30th Civil Engineer Squadron’s Pavements and Equipment Flight. This unit is essential for maintaining roads and airfields, supporting Vandenberg’s operations for satellite launches and missile tests. Eneluna was operating machinery when it rolled down an embankment. No other injuries were reported.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the loss of Airman 1st Class Cedric Eneluna,” stated Vandenberg Space Force Base.

Officials expressed deep sorrow over the incident, underscoring Eneluna’s dedication and commitment to the mission. He was described as serving with honor and humility.

The cause of death remains under investigation by the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office. A Safety Investigation Board is reviewing the accident.

Originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, Eneluna also spent time in the Philippines during his childhood. He joined the military in March 2024 and began his service at Vandenberg in August, becoming a part of the “Dirt Boyz,” known for pavement and equipment expertise.

Eneluna was admired by his peers for his positive attitude, work ethic, and willingness to assist others. Col. James T. Horne III of Space Launch Delta 30 recognized Eneluna’s character and dedication.

Lt. Col. Seth Poulsen, 30th CES commander, praised Eneluna’s qualities. He highlighted Eneluna’s readiness to work and his ability to uplift and help others. Eneluna exemplified the attributes of an outstanding Airman.
