Taylor Sheridan Warns of Legitimacy Crisis During Rogan Interview

1 hour ago 0

“Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan expressed concerns about the refusal of some Democrats to acknowledge President Donald Trump’s legitimacy. In an interview with Joe Rogan, Sheridan highlighted the threat this poses to the rule of law. Throughout Trump’s presidency, there was significant resistance from various leaders and institutions, ranging from sanctuary cities to major officials challenging his policies.

At the grassroots level, many people questioned the legitimacy of Trump’s election. Sheridan linked this to a broader crisis of confidence in American institutions following the COVID-19 pandemic. He remarked, “In 30 years, we’ll see that society still suffers from the aftermath of COVID, not due to the disease but the diminished trust in institutions like government, media, and pharmaceuticals.”

Sheridan referenced the military’s “hearts and minds” strategy from World War II, noting it had only been effective in Japan. He warned of internal conflict, observing that, “Defying Trump’s administration sets a dangerous precedent because people decide which laws to follow based on personal preference, undermining the rule of law.”

He emphasized that such a precedent could erode the rule of law in the long term. “When a president you support comes to power, the precedent suggests opponents may ignore his laws too,” Sheridan cautioned.

Joe Rogan agreed that the deployment of militarized police for immigration enforcement sets a troubling standard. He worried it might be exploited in the future by the far-left. Rogan said, “You’re setting a precedent that could be used in ways beyond immigration.”

Sheridan echoed these concerns, lamenting that politicians focus on short-term election gains. “Politicians should think beyond the next election, but historically, they may have been better at concealing their true intentions,” he said.

Sheridan also noted America’s ongoing cultural fallout from the pandemic. “Even today, Americans remain wary of institutions once held in high regard,” he remarked.
