Tarek and Heather El Moussa experienced a breach of security when their Southern California home was broken into during their family vacation. The incident occurred at their Newport Beach residence while they were in Mexico. Local authorities responded to a reported burglary in the Mariners Community area after 6 p.m. on June 8.
Details of the Break-In
The reality stars’ home was accessed when suspects entered the backyard. They shattered a sliding glass door at the back of the house to gain entry. Inside, the intruders ransacked the primary bedroom closet and then exited through the backyard, moving along the house’s side and out to the front yard.
Stolen Items
The burglary resulted in the theft of jewelry from the residence. Police believe the home invasion transpired between June 6 and June 8. As of now, the Newport Beach Police Department has not identified any suspects in the case.

The couple did not provide immediate comments through their representatives. However, Heather El Moussa expressed her feelings on social media. She described her disgust and sadness over the occurrence in her Instagram stories. Heather assured followers that she and Tarek, along with their children, are safe.
Family Background
The couple welcomed their son Tristan in January 2023. Tarek shares two children, Taylor and Brayden, with his ex-wife and fellow HGTV star Christina Haack. They co-parent and had continued working together on HGTV following their divorce in 2018.
