With the Fever leading 95-67 near the end of the third quarter, a foul was called on Olivia Nelson-Ododa. Connecticut Sun player Saniya Rivers exchanged words with Clark, prompting the officials to issue technical fouls to both players before the situation escalated.
Comments on the Incident
Clark explained post-game, via ESPN, “She said she was locking me up, so I responded with ‘Scoreboard,’ and the ref didn’t favor that.” Clark emphasized she will not alter her playing style despite the looming one-game suspension threat from further technical fouls.
Clark remarked, “I aim to manage my emotions. My intensity is essential to who I am, yet I must balance that with my role in the team. I won’t play with that hanging over me.”

The Indiana Fever secured a 123-88 victory over the Connecticut Sun. Caitlin Clark delivered 27 points and 11 assists in 27 minutes, achieving 8-of-13 shooting and sinking five 3-pointers.
Currently, Clark ranks fourth in scoring, averaging 21 points per game, and is second in assists per game, averaging 7.9. This win improved Indiana’s record to 17-10, placing them fifth in the WNBA standings.
