Caitlin Clark appeared noticeably different during the second half of the Indiana Fever’s win against the Atlanta Dream. During halftime of the Fever’s 83-71 victory, Clark experienced nausea and vomited, which did not deter her performance. “I haven’t vomited that much in a while,” Clark shared with ESPN. “But afterward, I felt fine and light, which allowed me to perform well in the second half despite losing my voice.”
Clark completed the game with 17 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, continuing her impressive record in the WNBA. She became the fastest player ever to achieve 150 points and 50 assists in a season. This feat matched her previous record set last season.
The victory was crucial for the Fever, following a heated sideline exchange between head coach Stephanie White and Clark that gained viral attention. The win ended their two-game losing streak and brought their record to 5-4.
Clark noted the importance of self-reflection for the team. “A lot of people asked how I was, and I told them, ‘I’m great,'” Clark said. “This week, it has been important for everyone to look in the mirror and find ways to improve, myself included.”
Looking ahead, Clark aims to recover fully as the Fever prepares to face the New York Liberty. The match is scheduled for Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
