Charley Hull’s Prank on Caddie Adds Lighthearted Fun Ahead of Major Championship

1 week ago 0

Charley Hull, known for her relaxed demeanor, is bringing humor to the fore as she prepares for the final major championship of the year. At the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in England, Hull shared an amusing anecdote involving her long-time caddie, Adam Woodward. Despite their successful partnership spanning over ten years, Hull’s recent prank might have tested Woodward’s patience.

Hull recounted how she visited a prank shop and purchased a fake scratch-off lottery ticket. In the player’s lounge, she handed the ticket to Woodward, who unsuspectingly scratched it, believing he won $100,000. Hull described his reaction, “He’s scratching it, scratching it, scratching, and he’s like ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve won.’ He’s literally running around the player’s lounge saying ‘I’ve won $100,000, I’m taking today off.'” The prank ended with Woodward nearly quitting, as Hull revealed the truth amidst laughter.

This light-hearted story fits Hull’s persona on and off the course. Her candor surfaced during discussions about her affinity for competing in major championships. Hull remarked, “That’s why I think I play so well in the majors. Even if I’m quite a lot behind, I am like, make loads of birdies today, extra dollars, for me and him to get.” Hull is currently ranked seventh globally and has secured runner-up positions in three major championships. She eagerly eyes her first major victory in her homeland.
