Chrissy Metz Responds to Comments About Her Weight

56 minutes ago 0

Chrissy Metz has addressed criticisms regarding her weight loss during her appearance on “The Tamsen Show” podcast. The 45-year-old actress discussed her choice to start using a GLP-1 medication and responded to those who comment on her body.

“It’s not that I don’t have people and naysayers and people who comment all kinds of stuff still to this day,” Metz stated. She reflected on a situation where a distant relative congratulated her for “taking control of your weight,” attributing weight issues to their family history.

Metz acknowledged the struggles of living as an overweight person, and she mentioned that comments from a relative, who also faces similar challenges, are less hurtful. “The other comments are a little… it’s wild to me,” she added. Online commenters often hide behind screens, and Metz noted, “It’s interesting what people say cause would they ever say it to you on the streets? Never. Never.” Despite receiving both praise and criticism, she highlighted the unwarranted nature of some comments about her appearance.

“It doesn’t matter what you do,” Metz continued. “And I know it’s not personal, but it can be taxing. You sometimes just got to just shut it off.” Currently, Metz stars in the Broadway musical “& Juliet.” She describes continuing her passions amidst criticism as an “act of rebellion.”

Recently, on the “Today” show, Metz talked about using GLP-1 medication with initial skepticism. Her perspective shifted due to her father’s passing from obesity complications. The medication helped reduce the “food noise” she often experienced. “I know it sounds so silly now, but I’m like, ‘Oh, not everybody hears that all the time?'” Metz shared.

Feeling better on the medication, she is now collaborating with Ro, a telehealth company offering various medications, including those for weight loss.
