A passenger on the CTA Red Line was injured by flying glass shards after a train window was struck by a bullet in Roseland, Chicago. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, according to police.
The victim, a 46-year-old man, was onboard near 95th St. at approximately 8:49 a.m. Chicago police report that individuals in three vehicles on the Dan Ryan Expressway initiated gunfire.
One of the bullets hit the train window, causing it to shatter. As a result, the man suffered facial and bodily injuries from the glass shards. He was transported to Trinity Hospital and is in good condition.
Police indicate that the vehicles involved fled the area. Area 2 detectives are actively investigating the situation.
