David Henrie Shares Journey from Hollywood to Faith

2 hours ago 0

Former Disney star David Henrie recently shared his transformation from a Hollywood lifestyle to a life guided by faith after a pivotal visit to a monastery. Speaking on Raymond Arroyo’s “Arroyo Grande” podcast, Henrie explained how his friendship with actor Kevin James led him to discover a new path.

David Henrie expressed his desire for a stable belief system after experiencing a “relativistic Hollywood” lifestyle, which he found unfulfilling. The actor described feeling empty from materialism and secular living, leading him to change his perspective on life and faith. He likened his past experiences to a “bubblegum theory of pleasure,” where temporary satisfaction gave way to a deeper sense of dissatisfaction.

“I grew up in relativistic Hollywood and, you know, a partying lifestyle, secular life, worldliness, materialism, and it left me empty,” Henrie shared.

In 2012, Kevin James invited Henrie to visit St. Michael’s Abbey in Orange County for his general confession, an experience Henrie described as life-changing. He recounted writing extensively in preparation for his time there, leading to a profound sense of relief after the visit. This marked a turning point for Henrie, who found lasting peace and fulfillment.

Henrie’s experiences at the monastery are also connected to his documentary series, “Seeking Beauty,” which explores the cultural and artistic richness of Italy. The first season of “Seeking Beauty” debuted on EWTN+ in January. Filming for the second season, set in Spain, is currently underway.

David Henrie’s story reflects a shift from secular influences to a more grounded and faith-driven existence. His open discussion of his journey provides insights into the benefits of seeking deeper meaning beyond materialistic pursuits.
