Donald Trump Jr. Discusses Evidence in Charlie Kirk Assassination Case

Donald Trump Jr. commented on the preliminary hearing for the man charged with assassinating Charlie Kirk, co-founder of Turning Point USA, saying the evidence presented was more decisive than he anticipated. He noted that newly released surveillance video and witness testimony strongly support the prosecution’s case.

“Once this hard evidence was laid out to me in a courtroom before my very eyes, and seeing the reaction of the defense, this thing is much more cut and dry than I would have ever even imagined,” Trump Jr. told “America’s Newsroom.” He expressed confidence that Tyler Robinson, the suspect, will be found guilty, stating, “the outcome is very clear.”

Robinson’s preliminary hearing commenced on Monday and is expected to continue through the week. Prosecutors aim to establish probable cause for charges that include aggravated murder, which carries the possibility of the death penalty. Robinson is accused of shooting the 31-year-old Kirk at a Turning Point USA event held at Utah Valley University on September 10 of last year.

Trump Jr. attended the hearing to honor Kirk’s legacy and support Kirk’s widow, Erika, and his parents. He emphasized the importance of seeing the evidence firsthand after choosing not to publicly comment on the case’s speculation.

“It was just important to be there. It’s a legacy that needs to be preserved,” he remarked. “The impact that Charlie had on so many Americans, on so many youth, is, frankly, generational. It could have been so much more, but it was important to be there and see the actual facts laid out.”
