Early Sunday morning, a tragic accident occurred in Mundelein when a man drove his vehicle into a brick structure. The Lake County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Lukas Beelow, a 31-year-old resident of Mundelein.
An autopsy conducted revealed that the cause of death was blunt force trauma. According to the police, they received a call at approximately 2:08 a.m. reporting a loud noise near the intersection of Chevy Chase Road and Hawley Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Beelow’s SUV had collided with the brick structure.
Authorities declared Beelow dead at the scene. The Mundelein Police Department, along with the Major Crash Assistance Team, is currently investigating the circumstances leading to the collision.
