Former Thai Lawmaker Allegedly Involved in Shooting Incident

In a recent development near Bangkok, a former Thai legislator, Chalong Reawraeng, allegedly confessed to attacking a local official before his arrest. This alleged incident occurred just outside the capital, Nonthaburi province, involving a former police officer, Thongchai Yenprasert, and his driver. The provincial police chief, Major General Dejrapee Kongdee, confirmed the detention of Reawraeng.

Earlier the same week, a tragic event unfolded in the same province, where a teenager shot and killed their grandparents and targeted a school, resulting in nine deaths. This event has reignited discussions on gun control in Thailand.

Local media and the BBC report that journalist Anchalee Paireerak received a phone call during a YouTube livestream, reacting in shock to information of a shooting. The caller allegedly admitted to shooting someone and received advice from Paireerak to wait for law enforcement.
