Hasan Piker, a prominent far-left influencer, has identified Neville Roy Singham as a significant financial supporter behind various pro-communist nonprofit organizations in the United States. These nonprofits are involved in political advocacy and numerous political movements. This marks the first public recognition from within the far-left network acknowledging the political nature of groups supported by Singham.
Critics have long argued that these nonprofits, connected to Singham, operate as political entities while enjoying tax-exempt status. According to congressional investigators and watchdog groups, their activities might contravene nonprofit tax laws that limit political activities.
Fox News Digital reported that the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control issued a subpoena to Piker and CodePink co-founder Susan Medea Benjamin. They possibly violated sanctions against engaging with the Communist Party of Cuba during a March trip to Cuba, described as a humanitarian mission by Piker and Benjamin.
In a livestream, Piker suggested federal investigators are targeting Singham and the organizations he supports, such as CodePink, ANSWER Coalition, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), for their political work. These groups have been involved in organizing major anti-U.S. protests in the last decade.
I think that ultimately the target is probably Singham and his operation from PSL to ANSWER Coalition to CodePink — like anything that he has ever financed, said Piker.
A Fox News Digital investigation revealed that Singham has funneled $278 million since 2017, following his marriage to CodePink co-founder Jodie Evans, into a network of six nonprofits. These funds have supported global organizations promoting pro-China messaging in alignment with the Chinese Communist Party.
Singham has attended events in China, praising its leadership and vision. His funding has benefitted multiple organizations, including the People’s Forum, CodePink, the Justice and Education Fund Inc., and BreakThrough BT Media. These and other entities form part of a transnational network of approximately 2,000 organizations pushing similar agendas.
Piker defended Singham, describing him as a financial supporter of political movements and criticized the suppression of activism funded by Singham.
It’s like totally f—ing ridiculous to try and stop the political advocacy of an American citizen,Piker stated about Singham, who now resides in China.
The ongoing investigations focus on whether organizations benefiting from charitable tax statuses have engaged in political activism beyond federal allowances. Piker’s comments may intensify scrutiny around these practices.
Hasan Piker, a rising voice among left-wing commentators, is known for espousing Marxist views while being criticized for living a luxurious lifestyle. Despite the controversies, Piker has established a strong online presence through livestreaming on platforms like Twitch, appealing to a young audience.
The investigation’s news has rallied support around Piker, although he faces criticism for separating from some Democratic leaders. Piker has responded by denouncing what he views as politically motivated probes on his personal channels.
