In Cheverly, Maryland, city officials are expressing concern over the recent layoffs at a production facility that have left many employees without jobs. These job cuts are resulting in uncertainty within the community.
James McPherson, a former employee at PepsiCo, marked his 21st anniversary with the company on September 13. The following day, he was laid off. Despite no longer working there, McPherson continues to awaken early, as if preparing to head to the PepsiCo plant located at 2611 Pepsi Place.
This facility in Cheverly was where McPherson dedicated two decades of his life to his career. These layoffs are having a noticeable impact on the workers and the surrounding community, raising concerns among local officials.
