Indi Hartwell never experienced a loss of her WWE NXT Championship during her tenure with the company. Her transition to the Raw brand required her to surrender the title.
On Sunday, Hartwell achieved a new milestone in her wrestling career by capturing the Knockouts World Championship at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s (TNA) Bound for Glory pay-per-view. She triumphed over Xia Brookside, marking her first reign as Knockouts champion.
The achievement came after hard work and persistence. Hartwell came close to winning TNA gold in the Knockouts TV Championship Tournament but was stopped in the semifinals. Undeterred, she pressed on, gaining momentum with a tag team title victory alongside Harley Hudson and a disqualification win against Zoey Serrano.
An altercation with Daria Rae led to Hartwell earning a chance to challenge Brookside for the Knockouts Championship. Both athletes emphasized doing things the right way in their pre-match promos.
Xia Brookside, competing since the NXT days, held the title for 105 days after defeating Lei Ying Lee. In the decisive match, her frustration boiled over, resulting in slaps to Mickie James, the guest referee. James retaliated, which Hartwell capitalized on with her finishing move, the Hurts Donut, to secure the victory.
Hartwell became the fourth different Knockout to claim the title within the year, joining the ranks of Brookside, Lee, and Arianna Grace. Once again a champion, Hartwell appears poised to hold onto her title without immediate challenges.
