Leon Slater Makes History as Youngest TNA World Champion

The Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) World Championship is the premier accolade in the company. Many professional wrestlers aspire to add their names to the prestigious list of titleholders.

On Sunday night, Leon Slater sought to carve his name into history at the Bound for Glory event in Tampa, Florida. Slater aimed to defeat Nic Nemeth and, at 22 years old, become the youngest world champion in TNA’s history. This challenge followed his previous near-record reign in the X Division.

The pressure of such an opportunity can overwhelm many, but it can also lead to greatness.

During the match, Slater withstood Nemeth’s attacks, including a Skull Crushing Finale and a Rough Ryder. Slater retaliated with a superkick followed by a Swanton 450. Though Nemeth initially resisted the pin, Slater persevered, battling back through Nemeth’s counterattacks.

Nemeth tried his best, executing a Danger Zone move but couldn’t pin Slater. In a key moment, Slater went over the turnbuckle, caught Nemeth off guard, and then nailed a splash in the ring. Finally, Slater executed a perfect Swanton 450 and secured the pin, achieving victory.

With this win, Slater proved the title of ‘Youngest in Charge’ and marked his place in TNA’s legacy.

Leon Slater now holds the championship and stands proudly in TNA’s history books.
