The Indiana Hoosiers, ranked fourth nationally, clinched a narrow 23-16 victory in overtime against unranked Minnesota, marking their second consecutive overtime win. Prior to this, the Hoosiers secured a 13-6 win against Michigan.
Backup quarterback Grant Wilson initiated the extra period with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Becker. The Hoosiers then thwarted Minnesota’s subsequent drive to secure the win.
In the thrilling conclusion of regulation play, Minnesota’s Luke Drzewiecki miraculously connected on a 60-yard field goal, granting the Golden Gophers a 16-13 advantage with only 19 seconds left. Indiana’s offensive line responded swiftly. Becker completed a 33-yard pass that positioned Paddy McAteer to match Drzewiecki’s effort with a 60-yard field goal of his own, sending the game into overtime.
Minnesota has consistently struggled against national champions, falling to 0-13 in such matchups. Moreover, the team has not defeated two ranked opponents within consecutive weeks since 1956.
