On Tuesday, Israel ramped up its military operations targeting Hezbollah across Lebanon. This escalation follows Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s directive to increase military actions against the Iran-backed group.
The Israeli military reported striking over 100 Hezbollah sites in southern and eastern Lebanon overnight. These included weapons storage and command centers. An evacuation alert was issued for Nabatieh, a major city in southern Lebanon, indicating imminent airstrikes.
Mashghara, located in the Bekaa Valley, suffered attacks that left at least 11 people dead, including two children, according to Lebanon’s health ministry. The Israeli military did not immediately comment on these specific strikes.
We are at war with Hezbollah,
Netanyahu declared in a video message, urging the military to intensify efforts.
The latest conflict surge began in March, after a U.S.-Israeli offensive against Iran led to Hezbollah launching rockets in support of Tehran. A cease-fire, facilitated by the U.S., started in April, yet sporadic attacks persisted, with both sides accusing each other of breaching the truce.
As violence in Lebanon increases, President Trump and Iranian officials have signaled progress towards potentially ending the U.S.-Israeli conflict with Iran.
