J Street, a liberal pro-Israel advocacy group, is stepping up its political efforts. Its super PAC is allocating $3 million for advertisements targeting Republicans supported by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
Among those targeted is Rep. Mike Collins, a Republican Senate candidate from Georgia. Collins recently spoke at the GOP midterm convention. The campaign against him is part of a larger strategy by J Street to influence the upcoming elections.
AIPAC remains a dominant political force. It has spent tens of millions on primary elections this year. In contrast, J Street positions itself as a liberal counterpart, aiming to counter AIPAC’s influence before the November elections.
