Jelly Roll Discusses Stress Eating Amid Divorce

3 weeks ago 0

Jelly Roll, a notable figure in country music, has openly discussed his recent battle with stress eating. While dealing with his divorce from Bunnie Xo, Jelly Roll noticed a tendency to overeat, which he attributes to the addictive mindset he has battled in the past.

In a YouTube video shared on July 10, Jelly Roll candidly described how a momentary indulgence quickly escalated into a binge. He admitted he had been overeating for several days, with stress eating becoming a significant concern.

“We had this show at a spot I love for their catering,” he explained. “They offer a dairy-free skillet cookie. I don’t usually eat things like that, but if I start, I can’t stop. Before I knew it, I had consumed 2,000 extra calories in a day without realizing it.”

Jelly Roll previously weighed over 500 pounds but had embarked on a health journey, losing 275 pounds. Despite this achievement, he acknowledges ongoing challenges with food consumption.

The artist finds moderation difficult, noting that he struggles with the concept of having just one of anything. He said, “I can’t have one burger; it’s got to be five. Even healthy foods can be a problem. If you put a big bowl of strawberries in front of me, I’ll eat the entire bowl. I need to learn restraint.”

Jelly Roll identifies the all-or-nothing mentality as a significant factor in his struggle with food, akin to how he approached past addictive behaviors. Understanding this has led him to modify his approach to cheat meals, knowing they can lead to extended periods of overeating.

Reflecting on the deeper issues related to obesity, Jelly Roll emphasized, “You don’t become the size you became without having a mental health issue. It’s something deeper. It’s vital to understand what you’re hungry for and recognize your triggers. Once you do, everything changes.”

Jelly Roll’s divorce proceedings with Bunnie Xo are underway, following nearly a decade of marriage. The couple married in a Las Vegas ceremony in 2016. In the divorce filing, Jelly Roll cited irreconcilable differences, marking May 9 as their date of separation.
